Welcoming sight?

Just look at what's the first place that can be seen when coming out of the sports hall (building on the right).

Looking ahead

Yeah, I know. Time for an update.

First of all, congrats to the Djoker for winning the OZ open. A deserved winner. Exciting final wasn't it? If Tsonga keeps on playing like that, he sure will be an interesting player to watch this year. As for the Fed Express, let's wait till he gets that Grand Slam. He should bounce back soon.

And semester 2 starts this week. New modules and new lecturers. Should be interesting. Know there's gonna be busy times ahead. Got some learning points from last semester to implement. Hopefully can cope with it. Insya Allah.

To all of you in the learning world, all the best in the new semester.

Familiar feeling

Ah yes, that familiar feeling is back. The sound of commentary from Simon, David and Frew on Eurosport. Australian Open. Yezza! This was all too familiar some time ago when I watched a lot (maybe too much :-) of tennis matches on tv. Watching it again now brings me back to Leeds....

What an epic match for The Fed in the 4th round. Tension! Good thing he went through!

Here's hoping he will go all the way and claim GS No. 13.

Minister of Energy visit

Manchester played host to a special visit by the Minister of Energy, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Paduka Pehin Dato Awang Haji Yahya. Had an invitation to go there and I thought it would be a good opportunity to meet the minister in person. Overall the event was pretty good. It even included a special presentation by the minister on the importance of energy conservation and for Brunei in particular. Some startling facts: Per capita, Brunei is number 3 in the top energy users in asia and the average number of cars per household has risen to 3.

I guess the more this message comes across to more people the better: let's just use what we need and let's put a stop in wasting precious energy.

PS- Got one more to go. Btw, i realise the irony of putting a picture of a car in my header :-)

Would like to share this which was shared to me.

Commercial break

And now we go to a short commercial break....

"Featuring TEAM GNR8. A group of enthusiastic badminton players from Brunei. High on talent and low on ego (or, is it the other way around??), they're Brunei's answer to the likes of Lin Dan, Taufik Hidayat and Peter Gade. They better watch out coz GNR8 is coming."

ps- apologies for this shameless advertising heheh

First post of '08

Felt that I should be writing something today just for the heck of writing on 1/1/08.

Let's see, what's blog-worthy? Oh yeah, today the house is lively again with a special guest appearance from a friend from brunei. Welcome to the uk mate. Your visit is surreal since nobody thought it can happen. Imagine after all this time, the trio is united once again.

Hope you enjoy the fortnight.
